BFG Gforce Comp-2 A/S
 

I just replaced the stock Michelins with a set of these Ultra High Performance All Season tires.
I am very much aware that just about any tire would be better than those for traction but...Whoah... the traction & grip are light years ahead!
The steering response & cornering is excellent.
Tire noise is no worse than what the stockers were.
If anything...maybe slightly less noisy.

In the rain they are awesome too.
No snow here yet, but last year I couldn't even get my car out of its parking spot after shoveling it out down to pavement. I had to wait a couple days for the snow to completely melt. I expect I wont have this problem again.

I got them too. Great tire for the price. We will see how they wear and perform over time.

ive had them for over a year and about 5k miles. they wearing great so far, they have a very aggressive looking tread for all seasons and let you drive in the cold. i haven't gotten to drive a twin with super sticky summers and im sure it sacrifices some grip in relation but ill take the tradeoff.

Replaced my bald heat cycled out RS-3's with "not a snow tire" (all-season) Comp-2's.

Surprisingly quiet on asphalt, very loud whistle and sing on concrete at high speeds.

So far, good wet traction, but surprisingly, in the cold, the dry traction is far better than I expected, with my canyon runs feeling safe and secure, and I can still run with traction control off and not feel loose with these tires.
Heading north today to find some snow and play.(I might be surprised again).

My hooning season that used to end at prius time (temps below 50 f.) has been extended !

These are definitely NOT a snow tire, HOWEVER, after all our latest heaviest snow storms, the tires got me home in the worst conditions (150 lbs. in the trunk).

The car just handles so well, as long as I crawled, it kept going through the thick heavy pack.

In a saline city a couple of hours for the plows to do their job, and these are good to go.

I fear however that they may be less snow grippy with less sidewall to sidewall siping as they wear.

Will find out next winter.

yeah, I dont need a 100% dedicated snow tire. I have my crosstrek for that. But I wanted to be able to drive it in the winter & still be able to take it out.
Last year, I shoveled down to pavement & had to wait 3 days for the snow to fully melt before I was able to back it out of its parking space. The tires just spun. It was crazy. (I had stock tires on it). I also noticed the road noise was increased under 40 degrees.
So far, so good this year... even in the few inches of snow we've had already - i could back the car out of the space w/o shoveling - no problem.

I'm pleased.

I love my 225 gforce tires in the rear with factory rims. Grip is so... much better than stock. The gforce tires do break loose a tiny bit but enough to keep it fun. By far a great tire for the price.

Although i may keep the factory 215 prius tires in the front.

SNOW PERFORMANCE UPDATE!

We had well over 6 inches of snow here in NJ yesterday. I am pleased to say - for the first time I was able to get my car out of its parking spot after a snow with the tires no problem!
The car tracked fine and handle the snow well.

I also feel that on dry pavement the car feels alot quicker than with the stock tires - probably since the back wheels are getting grip and not slippin' & sliding as they did with the stock tires.

Had them for over a year now and still running good on my daily driver to work. On 16 Enkei Classic Compe. Great tires.

Lately been commuting through stormy road conditions due to all the rain here in Cal. Holding up well.

Thanks for the review and glad to hear you like them. They seem to get a lot of positive reviews online. I'm about to buy these for my wife's GTI. Expecting these will be a nice step up from the stock Pirelli's.

This is what I settled on for my car, I'll let you know how they perform in the spring.

I just bought a set of 4 of these tires in 225 width, and so far am impressed. Tire noise is nearly non-existent in comparison to the Michelin Pilot Super Sports (PSS) I had before (also in 225), which I thought were quieter than the stock Primacy HP tires. Bought these since the PSS didn't last 25k miles and I was swayed from the Michelin A/S 3+ since CostCo is having to replace many of them due to warranty issues such as tearing.

Obviously there are some noticeable differences coming from the PSS I had before. Turn in is a little bit less responsive (PSS make the FR-S feel like the Chaparral 2J). However, it seems good enough for an all season (A/S) tire. I had a lot of difficulty breaking the car loose, which inspires confidence.

I'm very eager to re-learn how to use the FR-S with these tires properly. They seem to be worth the price (have them on the GF's car), and have very good traction.
