FR-S TRD Lowering Springs and Sway Bars releasing soon

I just found out the part number for FRS TRD lowreing springs: PTR07-18130. I read somewhere it suppose to have a 1 -1.5 inch drop.

Found a part # for TRD Sway bar also PTR11-18130

Nice, can't wait to see it. This is TRD USA right (since you said it's for the FRS), not JDM TRD?

DuMa 07-11-2013 05:14 PM

most likely these are rebranded springs

husker741 07-11-2013 05:15 PM

If they drop that much, I'll consider buying them and selling my RCEs, cuz these will be under warranty. BUT, it's TRD, so it'll probably be the price of most coilovers.

This is a part # from Toyota USA.

trd_kid 07-11-2013 05:29 PM

googled the part number and it appears to be legit

0_o FR-S ‘13, FRONT AND REAR PTR07-18130

Its legit but eh, might be pricey from a dealer and install point.

I posted a link where you can preorder it. The price looks like 210 USD, cheaper than most aftermarket springs. I should of waited for TRD instead of installing Eibachs.

Yeah I love my Swift springs, but dang.. 210 is a pretty dang good price.

And it stays all warranty approved. Damn.

monkeedoo 07-11-2013 05:51 PM

now will these still mess up your shocks??

tennisfreak 07-11-2013 05:57 PM

Hmmm if they are $210/per shock then what can we guestimate on price for all 4 installed?

$1200? If so would you pay that much? I might.........

Also monk why you ask if they will mess up your shocks?

No they won't. TRD springs are made to work with stock or upgraded shocks and/or struts so you could use either. If they mess up in any way, like if you end up with blown struts, they'll be replaced under warranty because these are TRD parts.
Unless of course you got the TRD parts installed by a third party and Toyota rules out that any damage was caused by improper installation by the third party, in which case you'll be SOL.

i was under the impression any lowering springs will wear out stock shocks in around 5k miles and if so would that be covered under warranty?

Pretty sure that's the price of the set of 4. Front and rear, according to the part number. If that's the case, they're right around the price of other lower springs like RCE's or Eibachs. I'm pretty sure the TRD springs will just be rebranded Eibachs anyway.
