It was time to say goodbye

Well i finally pulled the trigger and sold my car. I sold it to Carmax, who gave very nice chunk of change for the car. They gave $17,000. Which i thought was great, considering i have an accident on the carfax and the car had 34k miles. The body did have some scratches, so overrall i was fearing a much lower amount. But Carmax gave a nice amount, and so if anyone here is looking to get rid of the car, i recommend carmax. But anyways, it was great being a part of the community, but the car wasn't the right fit for my lifestyle. But I'm pretty confident I'll be in one a few years down the road. Till then, I'll be dailying a 2000 maxima 5spd. Just got to get a few suspension upgrades so the gap between the two cars handling wise will only be a mile long, rather than two.

Frs to a maxima? 201x car down to a 2000? You're doing it wrong.

Is it because you need a sedan to better fit your children/child?

Hey don't give the guy a hard time! It wasn't right, he recognized that and made a change.
Be nice if some others on here were that realistic!

2000 max 5 speed is a great car with a fantastic 3L V6 that can go 300K miles with no issues, gets 34 MPG on the highway, and is simple to upkeep. Good luck!

Now here's a guy who has priorities. Assuming the reason was a family (can't think of any other reason.) Lower payment (if any), lower insurance, room for the wife AND kids. Hopefully you can grab a nice cheap used FRS in 4-5 years.

Thanks everyone. Couldnt justify making those payments for a car that wasn't really suited for me at the moment. But thanks for the support guys

I kept my 2000 max as a daily other than issues with the coil packs the car is perfect for daily. As trying to daily an 86 in Ny is a joke.

It seems like posts about carmax go one of two ways:

1. They're awesome! They took my car and gave me a good no-hassle price/omfg best warranty ever

2. Their inventory is overpriced

Honestly seems like a really solid company, every time I've been in has been rather pleasant, as long as you look over the car and understand what you're getting it can be worth it.

Glad someone stepped up and did what they did, analytically statistically buy used cars at higher prices than the stealerships and sell them for lower, the consumer on both ends wins and Carmax operates to the spreadsheet.
