Certainly looks sexy...

The price is most likely not sexy thats for sure.

Saw it on a car this week. It's very nice for sure! Makes the motor look huge in the engine bay!

What kind of S/C is that?

djliquidsteele 10-24-2014 09:08 PM

looks like a root type supercharger.

I love the looks of that intake manifold...

Cosworth I don't understand you making absurdly expensive parts for such a cheap little car. Business model just does not compute...at all.

I don't think so. In pic 1 I think I see a centrifugal shape on the other side of the engine. Follow the intake tube back from the manifold. It's an odd place and orientation for a supercharger, so I think it's a turbo. Going by the blue lines coming off the manifold, I think there a water-cooled intercooler in there.

It's definitely a roots type. Looked identical to the sprintex units to me but I didn't really bother to get a good look as I was in a hurry. I'm sure the specs will be out soon.

It's a roots type ;)

It is a roots or twin-screw? It looks like a similar design to the TRD one, S/C sits on the bottom and then there are twin intercoolers, one on each side. I agree the blue silicone hoses are water lines to the I/C.

Who makes roots superchargers other than Eaton? The only ones they have are the older M series and the TVS, and the TVS 1320 is too big for an application like this. The older M62 S/C would work but it's not the most efficient.
