SEMA 2015

So I was just informed that I will be in charge of media coverage for my company's blog this year at SEMA. I just wanted to know if there is anybody on here that has gone before and if they have any suggestions on the do's and don'ts of SEMA (other than the list on their site)!

For those who are unfamiliar with it: http://www.semashow.com/

Also, I've never had to be in Vegas for longer than 2 days so what is there to do outside of gambling? I will be there for 5 days. Any input and advice is greatly appreciated! :D

From what little I can remember there's a great how-to manual regarding how maximize your experience as part of the press covering an event in Las Vegas... I can't quite remember the name of the book but it's written buy this random guy named Hunter S. Thompson.

I have heard something about that. Seems to me that they strongly recommended heavy use of hallucinogens or something along that line

There was also some movie recently about a bachelor party in Vegas. Can't remember the name of it, I just know it involved Mike Tyson, a tiger, a prostitute with a baby and a pissed off Chinese gangster.

That sounds like a pretty sweet gig, take all of the pics

Seems about right for a typical weekend in Vegas

I have to be somewhat coherent during the day since I will be at SEMA, but I've read some suggestions in the other thread as well as this one. It appears sunglasses to hide my eyes will become a must.

@53Driver unfortunately, re-enacting The Hangover will not be in my plans since there's no guarantee that I actually get to meet Mike Tyson. Otherwise I'd totally be down!

Only one way to find out! Get shitfaced and steal his tiger! I believe in you!

MokSpeed 08-12-2015 05:58 PM

I'm pretty sure my story would end at the tiger part.

Atticus808 08-12-2015 06:05 PM

that sounds like a sweet job!

don't even bother with sunglasses. just creep hard as fuck

Ramster 08-12-2015 06:52 PM

I'm guessing this is one of those events you have to be officially sponsored to attend? As in, you can't just go as a spectator.

53Driver 08-13-2015 09:16 AM

I'm pretty sure if you rolled into SEMA with a tiger you'd be the hit of the show. especially if it was Mike Tyson's tiger!
