Man all that official confirmation has sure got me convinced that this random article is much more accurate than every other random article posted here.

The previous dumb speculation posted was merely click-bait by an Australian blog. Posting negative, end of the world stuff, or creating a controversy out of thin air is THE classic way to generate traffic. I mean really, Toyota working with BMW on a high end model doesn't equate to an official word that Toyota and Subaru would not be continuing the '86 platform jointly. I don't know why that simple point is lost on so many people. Defeatist idiots wanting to believe that the product they own has failed or isn't good enough or something. Parenting issues maybe? Too many Kardashian watching drama queens reposting "rumors" not realizing they're being made into tools for clicks. [/rant]:mad0260: |

Posting speculative analysis that purposefully attempts to correlate one event to another on a blog is as close to the definition of click-bait as their could be. :bonk: |

Both are as useless as each other. As i said without a press release from Toyota or Subaru nothing is confirmed at all. :bonk: |

Yoshinaga was asked about the rumor so he answered the question as directly as possible. If, to you, Yoshinaga's quote is equivalent to the specious blog post he's replying to, I don't know what to tell you but good luck man. "Yoshinaga's comments came in response to an article on the Australian Web site drive.com.au, which quoted the car's chief engineer from Toyota as saying Subaru may not remain involved in the next generation."If I were to be told that, I'd pass out," Yoshinaga said. "It's not going to be just one generation." |
Yes and again this website linked is the only one reporting this news. Which is claimed to be a CEO confirming a new model of the BRZ.
If to you, a single American website reporting a quote from a CEO of a Japanese company that does not exist anywhere else but this website and that website claims the CEO spoke directly to them "Yoshinaga told Automotive News" is confirmation of a new gen 86 and BRZ, I don't know what to tell you but goof luck man. Just to be clear i would prefer that the twins continue, i do not with them to die out. I'm just saying this is NOT solid confirmation. |

haha j/k :respekt: |

I do agree with you in that the article linked does hold more credibility than almost any other posted here recently. But its still not official confirmation, hey maybe there will be a press release tomorrow who knows. |
Just because the article says they are quoting the CEO, doesn't mean they're telling the truth. Sure, it's possible they have an exclusive line to the CEO, but... really?

Comedy.

I can imagine they would want to squash any false rumors especially if it involves future production of a vehicle. If people think the car will not be around in a couple of years that may effect future sales.
