gr8 review. loved these two parts:

Quote:

In a word: sensational. A few years ago, the Hyundai Genesis coupe seemed as it could mark the return of the affordable and agile rear-wheel-drive sports car. However, it came in too heavy and not refined enough. The BRZ packs everything you look for in a sports car, including a tight and responsive chassis, a comfortable driving position and sporty looks. It is a riot to pilot. We spent a day hammering the BRZ on the twisty roads through the Alps in southern France.

the first bit is exactly how i feel about the new Camaro, which for a good while was my dream "sports" car. the BRZ is here to save the day, and boy am i glad i didn't do something stupid and try to get into one of those things only to regret it upon the BRZ's arrival. :D

Do I want it?

If you've been waiting for an affordable rear-drive sports car then yes, you do--badly. In short, the Subaru BRZ marks the return of what you crave. The philosophy Subaru followed while developing this car should be music to a car enthusiast's ears, with light weight, a low center of gravity and rear-wheel drive being the pillars.

yes indeed, i want this car....BADLY. :bonk:

Another new review claiming April 20 sale date.

http://www.autoweek.com/article/2012...IEWS/120329931

"When the BRZ goes on sale on April 20, two trim levels will be offered, Premium and Limited. Standard features on all models include a front strut tower brace, xenon headlights, touch-screen navigation system and satellite radio. Upgrading to the Limited version gains Alcantara seat inserts with leather bolsters, heated front seats and exterior mirrors, dual-zone climate controls, fog lights, keyless entry and push-button start."

w00t!!!!

Working from home today, and I have to stop reading these reviews, from the sounds I'm making my wife thinks I'm watching porn.

Let her keep thinking that... it'll have less impact on the household budget ;-)

Hah, probably!

Actually, SheWhoMustBeObeyedHawk is all on board. We saw the BRZ at a recent auto show, and she was making googoo eyes at it from across the floor before I even told her what it was.

Dammit... I don't want anymore reviews. I'm already convinced.

Can you just stop teasing us now Subaru!?

98% of the forum is pretty convinced..we just need more magazine and internet reviews to get others interested in the car that arn't part of the forum.

But a ford Mustang is better value cuz...

MOAR POWERS!!!!!!

skidpad/slalom numbers are pretty crazy for this car considering it lacks what lots of people believes it needs.

This car seems like the non-exotic version of a Lotus Elise/Exige without the hefty comfort compromises.

and MAOR cheap plastic and a live rear axle (which is pretty good in the latest S197 i must say, but it'll still twitch the rear out easily if you mash the accelerator down hard enough- i've done it).

I see it more as an attainable 911. 95% of the experience at 1/4 the price.
