Toyota Plans Scion Overhaul

A new lease on life for the Scion brand that will roll out three new vehicles over the next two years beginning in November.

Sounds like one or more models may be discontinued but favorable FR-S comments reflect it's superstar sales and image status in the lineup.

Besides the FRS and TC, I only see older people driving Scion cars.

Young people don't want young people cars. They want luxury, fast, flashy, sporty, cars that show off their non-existant wealth and success.

They need to increase the prices of their lower tier cars and add frivolous "luxury" items that don't really add anything and market that to the upper middle class mid-aged people.

Haven't finished your Business degree? Better get a lease on a new BMW. That is how it works in my town anyway.... it's stupid.

Check regular car reviews youtube video about an xB if you want a good explanation of why only old people drive the xB

So experts why do so many middle aged men and girls buy the twins? The only young hard ****s are on this forum.

BarDown 04-17-2014 05:27 PM

I just hope that they don't release anything that'd give a bad rep to Scion cars or anything that could be the next Civic (in the Ricer way)

Hey Toyota, build a modern version this:

Offer it as a convertible if you want

The middle aged men and women are registering the cars in their names and buying it for their children.

You didn't expect a 17 year old kid to mosey on down to the dealership without daddy and complete the paperwork did you?

That and the insurance.

I'd bet >50% of the young frz drivers on this site have it insured by their parents and at most are just an "occasional driver" in terms of what the insurance is told.

Consider me young @ 22 , bought my own frs and insure it myself, yeah its a bitch but totally worth it, so not all of us have mommie and daddy pay for everything

I see a lot of that here.
I know someone who is looking at BMWs and 'cedes and they're about 2 semesters after from an art history degree.
ANYWAYS.
Will be interesting to see what the "overhaul" entails.
Now, if Scion will stop with all the damn "release" series and just make the Gt86 on the standard FRS...

I dont care what other models scion/toyota offers, but they need to cut the BS gimmicky "release series", "series 1.0", "series monogram", "series monogram 1.0" "series whatever", "series stupid flashing lights" etc.

STOP RICING OUT THESE CARS.

But I guess stupid(imo) people buy riced out cars now adays, so whatever. The only impact it will have is a decrease in sales at Pep-boys Racing and Walmart Auto-Tuners
