Hole in driver side door

Hey everyone, so I have been searching like crazy for answers on this but have not been able to find anything. Also maybe I'm using the search on this site wrong but it never seems to work good.

Anyways, I discovered about 2 weeks after purchasing my 2014 FR-S that the driver side door jam has this little hole drilled out in it. I checked the passenger side and there was nothing. There is no plug in this hole just open metal and the inside of the door. Is this a normal thing? Am I missing a rubber plug for it? or does my door have a mysterious hole drilled out for no reason?

I'm at work and leaving soon, will post pictures when I get to my car.

Perhaps it was drilled for PDR and the plug fell out?

You must have gotten the glory hole option installed, lucky.

if its in the bottom of the door it might be for drainage. I think the doors already have 2 holes stock for draining water from the door.

.

You get three guesses, first two do not count.

Obviously, living where you do, the hole is left over from the anti-carjack gasoline flame thrower nozzle, which was a port-installed option for the Detroit market.

Oh yes how could I have forgotten the flame thrower. It's basically a standard on every car in Detroit now:D

That's a sizable hole for sure. Get a rubber plug I guess.
