HKS Supercharger Power and Pricing Released!
According to Luck, the HKS Supercharger kit will be getting their shipment end of September. Raises WHP from 170 to over 230 (60 WHP increase), Comes with a F-CON so it's pretty much a PNP setup, and on strengthened internals, can support over 400hp.
The cost? JPY 503,000 which is about USD 6,500. http://luckstaff.cocolog-nifty.com/b...zc6zn6-12.html |
Hmm...this and a turbo? :D

Thats a stiff price in the face of much lower cost/more power turbo kits
For the moment tho, its similarly priced to the Bullet Superchargers Screw kit from Aust so until a lower priced supercharger kit comes to market it seems SC kits are sitting around the $6k + mark |
fu@k, $6,500? I'll wait and take two of these;

Excellent. Although I'm sure it will be a less popular option as many will chase hp figures.

I would be curious to see what the gains would be with header, cross-over pipe, cat-back exhaust, and crank pulley. I bet it would be close to 280-290 whp.

I'm interested in this as well. The price is steep, but it's really hard to beat the reliable SC option.

typical HKS high pricing.
It has way fewer parts than a turbo kit but yet its more expensive and maybe unreliable. |
To the people doubting the price, I can assure you HKS parts are top notch
And you cannot convert Yen to USD and expect to pay that. When JDM 86 prices were released USDM owners thought our pricing would start at 33k obviously loom where we are now. I've owned plenty of high dollar HKS parts and on every single part they got right. 4g63 Hks cams for example, they are priced the same as high lift and longer duration Kelford or BR cams but they just seemed to always work. I don't think any of you have seen the power of an FCon system either. The amount of bench racers and people trying to put in their .02 cents but do not own the car on this board is horrendous |
I agree. I don't own a BRZ yet, mine is still on order. I'll probably be waiting another 4-6 months to get it. But hey, that just gives me time to get wheels, suspension, exhaust... warranty won't last long for me :P

Time will tell regarding reliability, pricing and actual power... Of course it won't be as much power as a turbo, but each has a benefit, and for the S/C you can do your N/A build, then when you need more, get this.
Everyone has to admit, it's great to see yet another option. |
