Hello everyone, and welcome! This is my 2017 Subaru BRZ Series.Yellow. Now, as some may know, I previously had a 2013 Scion FRS which was heavily modified. To put it simple, I was in too big of a damn hurry. This time around I think I'll be going a bit slower on my build....

3 years in, I've decided to pursue the STI Sport design found in Japan!

Car looks great. Loving the STI lips and Clear sidemarker. This just confirms I need to do these.
Are you considering doing a different 3rd brake light?
What are the part numbers on the OEM oil cooler?
I just talked with Jackson racing they are coming out with a dual radiator/oil cooler that will be plug n play for MY17.

Thanks! The STI lip really does help make it more distinct and flows well with the black accents of the car.
I'm not going to do a 3rd break light as I don't see any reason to.

The Jackson Racing radiator/ oil cooler does look like an interesting item tbh. I just figured I'd go with the OEM look since I don't track my car, yet. And if I do, I'll just put a proper oil cooler on.

I don't recommend an aftermarket thermostat if you have no practical reason to. The Forrester oil temp regulator will be enough.

That makes sense. If you are not going to track your vehicle I am sure the OEM solution will work and it is significantly cheaper.
Ya I love the STI kit. I am going to go with STI front lip and a HPT sideskirt. I want to see a series yellow with a Valenti 3rd brake light. I think it will look awesome. Especially if you do the V mod so that the V lights up with running lights.

Well... what if I want to be an Austin hipster? :p

I'm sure you love the updated twin a lot compare to more bare bone 2013 model. :)

Having all of the little toys like automatic headlights, leather seats, and the revised suspension are all lovely compared to the 2013 base.

As for the Cosworth I cannot say for certain. I want to, but honestly, if I were to, I'd rather just wait a while longer and do forged internals too.

Looks great! Would love to see some more pics of the drop that the Pro kit gives you.

It's only about an inch. It's pretty subtle so I usually forget I have them on.

Congrats on your new car! Looks very nice. Take it slower and think twice before doing any changes. It took me almost 3 years to change the suspension and I don't regret it.

Are you sure that you want to re-build this engine? It is quite different from older Subaru designs. It has fewer gaskets and you have to use much more sealant. It is like trying to glue the pieces back. This engine was designed with a different mindset (use it and then throw it away).

Not an impossible task and for sure it has been done many times, but the process is more complex and more prone to human error.

Time will tell if I actually decide to build the engine, let alone add a supercharger.
