Not hard to disagree with the review as its pretty much spot on.
Perfect balance here would be to save the money on the pointless TRD cosmetic crap upgrades and get a base model. You could spend less than half of that 6500 of TRD upgrades on things like intake, exhaust, and tune (or maybe even lighter wheels+tires and tune) to get a decent boost in performance. |
Anyone that would pay 30k pounds for a GT86 is off their rocker!
|
I love that Porsche's new front end
|
I love it that they used the same word to describe the TRD package as I did...
pointless. Scott |
The 'not-so-secret-sauce' would be to install BRZ OEM rear springs in the GT86 and re-test. Or just throw a BRZ out there to see how the comparisons would change, if at all...

Why are 0 to 60 times all over the plase for the FRS? This says 7.7 seconds. I have seen all the way down to 6. Wtf?
|
Shouldn't this be in "vs." ?
|
well at least the fr-s is prettier then the porsche:thumbup:
|
I like this guy's opinion of our car......:D
Really I don't care about all these our people saying this and that about the FR-S/BRZ i'm happy with my bang for the buck ride. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUhLXvxlQR4"]Toyota GT86 / Scion FR-S v Nissan 370Z v Used Porsche Cayman S - CHRIS HARRIS ON CARS - YouTube[/ame] |
Just the fact that my $27k car is compared to a Porsche regularly makes me happy about my car purchase. It's not as fast, but for the money, you really can't beat the combination of a perfect daily with amazing performance.

"...were an orgy of oversteer..."
awesomely put lol |
Clever title, not so clever if it happened literally.... good read though.
|
Finally the comparison against the base Cayman, and not the Cayman "S".
