PHASTEK Headlight Halos for the Scion FR-S

The Phastek Halo Kit adds bright halos to your headlights on your Scion FR-S / Subaru BRZ. Grab more attention with this unique mod! Add a remote to help find your car at night or for that extra "wow factor". Note that the remote can only be used to turn them on or off and have no strobing capabilities. If you desire more functionality with the wireless remote, check out the dual color and ColorSHIFT kit.

Now Available in RED, BLUE, GREEN, AMBER, and COOL WHITE.

The pictures below are from a dual color halo setup. The single color has the potential to be brighter due to it having double the density.

They look good. I'm interested. Also want to see a diy guide before I commit. Do these just go around the projector? Would like to see pictures with DRLs installed and on. Would the white match 6000k LEDs?

PhastekSport 11-13-2012 11:12 AM

Thanks... The white color is around 6000k. I can take pictures with them on and the 6000k HIDs currently installed. The DRLs were disabled because of the orange tint (despite having aftermarket bulbs).

They can be wired in to act like DRLs though. Just hook them to accessory power and flip the switch to the on position. They do indeed go around the projectors.

With the projector retro fit we'll be doing, the high beam area will be switched back to DRLs probably (with a plasma LED bulb).

They are really bright.... When driving against a wall I can tell that the spread is wider than my headlights. It actually adds some light to the corners. Also I thought I was going to hop back in my car last night to go to the store so I left them on. I wound up not returning to the car for at least 12 hours and the car still started without hesitation.

This shows how they are currently wired. Someone was curious about that. We had to rush because I was coming back from SEMA and headed right back out again. The wiring options are just about endless. You can go with a wireless remote and have color patterns as well.

Would it be possible to hook up the halos onto the current DRL circuit instead of flipping an on switch?

PhastekSport 11-13-2012 12:36 PM

I would have to research the DRL circuit on the FR-S. I know on the FJ Cruiser, they would reverse the current, but that had a different bulb type.

Also we would have to look into the fact that they might drop the voltage supplied to the light. Then we'd have to add a relay.

You don't actually have to flip a switch if you run it with accessory power (easy location to tap into is the cigarette lighter). When the vehicle is on or the key is flipped to ACC... The lights would be on.

I do understand the desire to wire them differently, but I would think this solution would please most people.

Sounds good. But i was thinking of actually deleting the DRL's and hook up the halos onto that circuit. Though i cant imagine how the fr-s would look like without the DRL's and just the halos, might look awkward. But anyhow, you got me interested. Or i'll just wait for you guys to come out with a complete headlight unit with HID retrofit with the halos. Makes it a lot easier to install.:D Thanks for the input!

Personally, I think it looks fine without the original DRL and the halos. Next time I get the bumper off, I'll check the wires to see what the output voltage is with the DRLs. I have to see what a pair of headlights would cost us. Another thing on my to do list (along with pricing for door handles).

Here's a picture with the halos on during the day and the lights off.

Looks very sexy with the halos. I'll stay tuned for updates. Thanks!

Love the Trans Am conversion! I've always wanted a '69 Camaro SS and a "Bandit" Trans Am. Yes, deep down, I am a Redneck, its just who I am.
