Wheel and tire combo for 500 hp
I already have 2 sets of 17x9 wheels and I really don’t want to make the switch to 18’s. Does anyone make a good 17x10 so I can just buy 2 for the rear? I run nitto nt01’s 255’s right now. If I can’t find any 17x10’s would it be beneficial to put a 275 on a 9 inch wheel in the rear? This is for autoX and track use.

I do not think 275 in the rear will be a good thing. 255 is already a bit bulged and feels sloppy when compared to 235 and 245 in a 9". If you do find any decent (read light and strong but not costing and arm and a leg) 17x10 wheels I would be interested in buying those as well, so please do share.

I opened this thread and read "Grab the ice cream truck wheel"

I'd also really consider changing your suspension setup based on what you're using this power for. You're going to want to be soft, and compliant in the rear.
For what it's worth, I've seen 17x10 RPF1's run on a Factory818 setup. Not sure if they make them in a 5x100 though...putting a 275 on a 9" wheel will bulge a little, this shouldn't hurt its performance. Just be sure you're not hellaflushdope1337CR3W |
We can have BRAID make some 5x100 17x10 wheels. Any offset. Let me know if you're interested.

I am guessing you want to run SM. Here is a very good build thread about someone doing the same thing
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25212 towards the end he was running "I had 275/35R17 Hoosier A7s on 17x9et45 RPF1s." with some fender rolling and probably every other possible thing he could do? |
