Palmer Motorsports Park

Has anyone been following this motorsports park in Palmer MA? Last update I see is from 2006. Would be nice to have a track within a few hours of driving besides Limerock.

It hasn't been built yet, it's a planned track that is supposed to be built in the future but it is uncertain whether or not it will actually be built. The company that was going to fund it pulled out and they are looking for new funding.

I've been waiting for 6 years (I even drove out to the site a few years back to scope it out). Still keeping my fingers crossed, but I'm not optimistic it'll ever happen.

Does anyone know if the SCCA is still funding it? They were throwing $5,000/mo at it the last I checked, but the last time I checked was '09.

The track set up looks awesome.

The permitting looks difficult, if not impossible. It would be much easier if it didn't involve so much wetland.

It's already been approved...it's just missing an investor...it needs funding to get construction going.

Ok, Ok, I'll invest:

Considering the amount of interested/well-to-do individuals who already support the project, I'm sure they could get the funds if they could find a way to appeal to the public more. Even $5 here and there from people itching to get on a track (myself included) would add up rather quickly.

Guys,

Palmer is fully approved by the town and all its permits were approved 5+ years ago.

It is going to require a major invester(s) to get the ball rolling. It has always lacked funding....

The latest talk is a new track being built just North of Keene NH. THis one has some legs and a some serious money is being raised for its complete development.

I'm happy driving at NHMS, LRP, WGI, Mt Tremblant but would not mind another one :-)

someone win the lottery, and fund it. track layout looks like real fun

Stafford Springs sometimes has SCCA events and if you don't mind a drive there is always NH Speedway and The Glen. You can always look into joining Monticello.

Tt3Sheppard 01-02-2013 10:44 AM

Those are some far drives from SouthEast MA. Driving to LRP is scary enough knowing that if something happens to my car I'm screwed.

gily25 01-02-2013 02:23 PM

Sorry I thought you were just looking for time trials. Even at that, never go it alone...lol...seriously though, you're always best to have a friend trail behind you and be your "pit crew".

I'll never forget (from my years working at LRP) 2 ladies in an M5 who drove up from Jersey...needless to say they didn't drive it back.
