I cringed a lot looking at that.

uspspro 06-05-2012 07:40 PM

wow... neighbors must love these guys

bimmerboy 06-05-2012 07:58 PM

yep- this is the new civic si folks, get used to it..

HotLeopardMama 06-05-2012 08:40 PM

OMG, that poor car. :paddle:

ahausheer 06-05-2012 09:38 PM

Those guys are stupider than their clothing company.

Godzilla35 06-06-2012 05:16 AM

repost but I agree.... and they're local to me.
sweet move, but seriously... in a small area, broad daylight, with people, cars, dog, etc. AND in a brand new car AND from my local dealership = fail

... I wear DTA clothes too -___- but it was to support Gush.

Asterisked Accolade 06-06-2012 10:00 AM

I've never understood the point of a burnout (aside from before making a pass at the strip).

Hanakuso 06-06-2012 01:30 PM

Bad thing is he lives in the same area as me and i'm scared someone will mistake me for this idiot. Good thing is the local junkyard will have some spare parts just in case I need something for my FRS. I'm guessing this car is wrecked by now

ShoNUFF 01-20-2013 11:02 AM

Sorry guys but that was pretty awesome. Who cares if he messes up his own car.

_hollywood 01-20-2013 11:13 AM

Isnt this the whole point of the car? I see nothing wrong with this video, besides skipping the break in procedure lol

At the track-yes
On public streets in broad daylight - no

There's nothing wrong with burnouts or stupid maneuvers in a controlled environment.

When you leave a controlled environemnt, you are putting yourself(driver), friends(passenger, camera man) and strangers(pedestrians, cars parked or moving, neighbors) at a huge risk of harm or misfortune.

Not to mention property damage and burnout marks that are out front of your house until the street gets paved again.

If it was at the track, I'd laugh with you. On the street, I'm laughing at you and waiting for you to get yours.

campy 01-20-2013 11:46 AM

The last track I was at actually had a no-burnout rule, so you can't even do this at the track haha

To be totally honest, I kinda give him credit for handbrake sliding the car 180 degrees on that narrow, steep street. I was expecting him to take out the camera guy or another car.

That's probably why you drive an automatic Supra.

Beyer Subaru 01-20-2013 12:17 PM

Easy guys. I'm not makin a pissing match. I think it's a great video and chuckled a bit. The thing is - he could have easily lost control and caused any number of bad things to the cars/property around him.

What is the one thing that causes every get-together/meet to be busted or shut down? Some asshat doing burnouts. There is a time and a place for everything.

The reason I drive an auto is bad knees/ankles/back. I've always driven a MT before my 92x Saabaru. With this car it was a real tough choice but as my daily the auto kicks all ass.

You can rationailze this how ever you want. @_hollywood
On my side - I'd be safe driving home from having fun at the track.
On your side - You'd be unsafe, arrested, in an accident and/or hated by your other car guys/neighbors.

I think this is a good example of people doing stupid things in their brand new cars.

Jeff Lange 01-20-2013 12:22 PM

I've got no problems with him doing the things he did, it was actually a pretty good burnout and not a bad 180. Still cringe a bit seeing it happen in what is basically a narrow-road neighbourhood though. I wouldn't want someone doing that on the street in front of my house.

You probably would have really loved it if a little kid came running from behind those bushes on the left there and got squashed! That would have been epic awesomeness huh? It's all about you having fun...fuck everyone else...amiright????

If I saw some asshat do this outside my house I'd have a tough time not beating the shit out of him...

I just can't imagine how people can justify this??? They couldn't find an abandoned road, empty parking lot, anything other than a very tight, highly f'ing residential street lined with cars, bushes, etc...unreal.....

Whoah! Easy there brother. This is a primetime post for people doing dumb ish. We might not like it but this is a great thread for asshattery at it's finest.

The kids will make mistakes and we will hopefully always be there to give them some guidance and a band-aid.

I understand...but doing things like this in residential areas always tends to get me worked up. Do these guys ever stop to think what they're life would be like if they did kill a little kid? I mean, I putt-putt through our neighborhood because I'm paranoid one of the little ding dongs will run out in front of me and get killed. Even if it wasn't my fault, it's not something I want to experience...it would be a very hard thing to live with. I just don't understand the lack of sense, responsibility and selfishness. And that's exactly what it is. When I was a kid some guy in a 280z did something similiar in the middle of our neighborhood when we were all hanging out by my house and we all pretty much agreed he was an idiot. I was probably 10-11 years old and I knew it was a stupid thing to do. I've done my share of hooning, but not like that. It's inexcusable...that guy should be dragged out of his car and beaten with a garden hose...

edit: and moronic comments like this don't help "most teenagers texting are more dangerous than this guy" like it some how makes this okay?????????????? wth????

Empty parking lot in what looks to be an industrial area. I'm cool with that. Little city street in a residential area, go to jail go directly to jail, part out the car and give us the bits and pieces!

Amen Brother. And I guarantee there was a parking lot like what Beyer Subaru posted above within probably 2-3 miles of that street. But that's just too inconvenient for those guys...:paddle::paddle:

:sigh: ... Thanks for indulging...I'm done. :happy0180:

Gixxersixxerman 01-20-2013 02:57 PM

The burn out isn't so bad till he takes off.. He is just sitting there.. A cop would've given him a citation but not arrested him.. The ebrake slide and the driving fast down the road is un called for..

Jedi1 01-20-2013 03:05 PM

Sorry, but in my eyes the burnout is pretty bad. Somebody does that in front of my house while I'm homeand it's going to get ugly. I don't want to look at that every day for the next few years.

Splat 01-20-2013 03:05 PM

anybody watch the other vids in that? The "wife reaction" had some type of match for every married man in this joint I bet. My wifes reaction was one of those.

Lonewolf 01-20-2013 04:18 PM

Stupid. It is a narrow, public street. At least do it somewhere where there is more room and not so many articles of other peoples' property to damage...

_hollywood 01-20-2013 05:16 PM

Everybody calm down, i think we all have done something similiar to this, even just today i spun my tires accidentally in the snow,i thought about this thread and i decided to get out of my car and apologize to everyone in the nearby area, and offered counseling to those who witnessed my lack of judgement, i also didnt want anybody to " beat the hell out of me" for being reckless .....i am a menace to society apparantly.

Jedi1 01-20-2013 05:37 PM

Sorry, no excuse for what they did in a neighborhood. Your tires turning over on the snow is a tad different than you sitting and blatantly doing what they did.

Gearhd79 01-22-2013 06:55 PM

I think that even though it was dummer than a fart in a space suit to do a burnout in a tight street like that i have done probably worse and live to tell about it. My friends would do burnouts like that in front of my house whenever they would drive by. Yes my dad was NOT happy. Kids will be kids and let us all lighten up.

P.S. I did grow out of the stupid driving crap and that IS why i now autocross.
:burnrubber:

Reminds me of NASIOC where everyone on the forum pretended to be angels that never exceeded the speed limit by 1 mph. C'mon man

Chewie4299 02-18-2013 12:24 PM

Doesn't quite fit the theme of the thread but
