Don't worry ichi. We're Asian--which mean we're naturally born ninjas and martial art masters. We'll punch bullets away and flick them back while back flipping our way to victory.

I've been borderline on getting a mossy nugget, but I just don't have a place to shoot it.

Allch Chcar 06-10-2012 06:35 PM

Very nice collections gentlemen, I need to get a pistol myself. It's one of the reasons I'm getting off-campus housing, the other being no pet policies for on campus housing.

I've got my heart set on a Sig. I was looking at the Mosquito(basically 22LR version of the Sauer).
Why? Mostly for the factory threaded barrel.
http://youtu.be/f6tCJ6VAVRs?t=12m25s the important part is 35 seconds from 12min25s -13min.

Mitch 06-10-2012 07:01 PM

The Ruger MkIII 22/45 is available with a threaded barrel, and the PAC-lite barrels are very nice as well if you need more threaded options for the MkIII platform. But one thing is for certain, no gun is going to be as much of a pain to clean as a MkIII, so you may be better off with the Mosquito if for only that reason.

Allch Chcar 06-10-2012 08:46 PM

I looked at the Ruger but I didn't like it enough to consider it. Thanks for pointing that out!

Correct on pistols. Don't know about rifles or shotguns.

mpicher 06-29-2012 09:29 PM

I'm a hunting gun guy... Couple Remington 30-06's, couple of .22 lr's, 20 ga weatherby over/under, 12 ga rem 1187 light contour, 12ga smoke pole (road gun), s&w k-13 .357 w/2.5", couple other .22 pistols.

Got my own shooting range too :-). Just a short walk out back...

Vracer111 06-29-2012 10:19 PM

For pistols I have an HK USP Expert (.40Cal), CZ 97B (.45ACP), and a Glock 20C (10mm)...

For Rifles I have a Sig 522 (.22 Cal), Savage 10FP (.308Win), and PSL-54C (7.62x54R)....

My PSL is changed to look more like the SVD though...with actual SVD buttstock (modified for fitment on PSL by a US company) and third party wood foregrip:

"Getting a licence is a long and complicated business...Independent referees provide confidential character statements in which they are expected to answer in detail about the applicant's mental state, home life and attitude towards guns." -- BBC News website

So basically, if a person wants a gun, the UK police will assume that you're crazy to even want one, unless you're a farmer or gun club member, etc. Whereas in the US you guys have a constitutional right to own guns.

I haven't checked up on it too much but I believe it is like Canada and Australia. The emphasis is on hunting and target shooting so there is a 10 round limit on magazines and a permit is required.

In the US it depends on the region, state, county, and city ordinances. Even in Kentucky I need a background check and there is a waiting period unless I have a Conceal Carry permit. Ownership is pretty loose, there's no registration except prohibition for felons but there is good many laws in regards to lawful use especially for hunting.

'Un Restricted' requires a 2 day safety course, and a very serious reference check. Any ex- in 5 years feels uncomfortable hearing you are interested in acquiring a firearm and it's too bad so sad.

What that allows us are rifles and shotguns with a min barrel length of 18.5", a min overall length I've forgotten, and a max capacity of 5 rounds. (Except .22LR is 10, I think) Unless a rifle is specifically stated to be Restricted or Prohibited. Which leads to some interesting situations. AK47 is Prohibited (illegal except under grandfathered situations). But there is a CZ battle rifle that is basically an AK but with a better receiver and 18.5" barrel. So long as the 30 round magazines are 'pinned' to 5 rounds, totally Un-Restricted. Including folding stock ones... All the well know .50 BMG sniper types are specifically Prohibited (Barrett, MacMillan...) but the .50 BMG itself isn't. So you can legally get an obscure Steyr (I think) Un-Restricted. And now, no longer needs to be registered.

But a .22 pistol is Restricted (all handguns are) and can only be moved to and from registered gunsmiths and ranges?

Canadian gun laws... Silliness.

I took my course but haven't bothered putting my friends, family and co-workers through gov't interrogations to get my license yet.

vividracing 07-02-2012 11:59 AM

Arizona is cash and carry. You can get a CCW but its really for the most part not needed. Its legal to CC here without a permit. Course a few restrictions. But the Cowboy and Indians are alive and well here in the southwest.

This I do understand! Sometimes I feel like Tucson is becoming more of the wild west with the influx of cartel related business. Feel somewhat safer carrying anywhere I go when I visit AZ.

Have a S&W 4506 and CZ P01. I've been thinking about getting in to action shooting (IDPA). Anyone have any experience with that?

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/Nerf%...F-25%20Blaster

Dont be fooled, this thing is f**king pneumatic pump fire off single rounds ladies!!!!.

Six D batteries turn the hybrid Blaster into a foam-shooting tommy gun—feeding a 25-dart belt through a fully automatic chamber at more than two shots per second. The result: the fastest, most powerful Nerf gun ever and the one best equipped for mowing down moving targets.

Another option...

Looks great! Reminds me of my all-time favorite toy I had as a kid, the Johnny Seven OMA (One Man Army). These go for serious coin now if you can find one with all the pieces. Another one of those "should have bought a truckload and locked away" items. (Click the photo for a description)

I have a Lithgow Lee Enfield SMLE or as we call them here in Australia a "303".
A Winchester 1892 lever action in 44-40
A couple of so-so .22's
A smooth bore, muzzle loading shotgun circa 1861, only clue I have to its origin is "Kentucky"
A Parker-Hale 1861 Enfield muzzle loader

Been thinking about getting myself a Remington 700.

Ya, idk, crazy white people with guns... Shut up and post your arsenal. Oh, and bring them to Cali so we can go shoot. I'll modify you're firearms to be Cali legal so you could at least have some fun and get some time behind the trigger.

I can mod them, hell I've built several AR15s. :D I just hate what you have to do to them, I know it is all reversible, etc. but top loading AR is pretty gross.
