Houston: Coffee and Cars! 10/6

Another Coffee and Cars Meet for October 6th!

http://coffeeandcarshouston.com/

Any Ideas for meeting locations? I know where the s2ki.com people are meeting up. But I'm sure the toyoburu crowd would like their own meeting spot :)

Roll Call:

1. The Slow One
2. F1point4
3. dcamco
4. Chris@phas

F1point4 10-01-2012 02:38 PM

I'll be there with my mentees. @texas2888 had us meet at the Taco Cabana across 249 from Vintage Park

dcamco 10-01-2012 10:40 PM

I'll be there

hewno2 10-02-2012 08:15 AM

Please post where this is going to be! I am in Richmond, south of the Westpark, off 99.

BAE 10-02-2012 09:27 PM

I can't be there this time. I have even bought cones. My kids beach buckets didn't look very professional.
C&C is at 110 Vintage park.

PhastekSport 10-04-2012 09:16 AM

I'll be there.

boarder1995 10-04-2012 12:48 PM

Plan on being there, likely in the BRZ with Nameless full exhaust! Park in the same alley, where it's shady most of the morning?

If you zoom in on the previously posted googlemap link and make it satellite view, look for where the UPS truck is illegally parked near the red marker. That's basically the set of spots we park in.

fmsida 10-04-2012 09:23 PM

@BAE usually gets there early and reserves spots. However if he is not going to be there this time around, then some one else is going to have to take one for the team and get there early enough save some spots... just saying :-)

E_br4ke 10-04-2012 09:57 PM

What time is the meet? Might have some time this weekend for this.

hewno2 10-05-2012 10:02 AM

What time...9ish?

Hey...I've never been to one so I didn't know. I am down in Richmond....where is this Taco Cabana being mentioned?

fmsida 10-05-2012 11:22 AM

I would say 6:30 at our usual spots at the latest.
@BAE, what time do you usually get there?

21121 Texas 249
Houston, TX 77070

its basically down the street from where the meet is.

PhastekSport 10-05-2012 11:49 AM

We're installing a cam in the Camaro so I guess we're just going to ride in the FR-S. Perhaps we'll meet up before heading down there as well.

I didn't mean my response to be rude...more joking. But yes, you have to get there early. There always seems to be empty spaces way out back where general cars park to come look at the "show", so that'll help for those of us not super early. It's a great event, non-sponsored, that displays everything from early 1900 cars, rat rods, classics, old and new muscle cars, imports, supercars, trucks, etc. Lots of families come out and it's somewhat "self policed"...meaning NO RACING, no burnouts, mild reving, and any stupid antics accidents that occur, that individual is usually shamed into not ever coming back.

Also, if you see someone collecting for police donations...please consider donating if you have the means. The police don't come for free and they do help with traffic so the locals don't complain to the property owner, thus we don't get kicked out (like we have in the two prior locations).

I have been there 6.30, you may stretch it to 6.45, but last time the Fiat guys had taken our spot before 6.30. Enjoy! I will be there next time.

I took it as joking...no problem! I will try to be at TC in time to catch you guys...

Am or pm?

PhastekSport 10-05-2012 06:05 PM

AM sir. That is my guess.

F1point4 10-05-2012 07:26 PM

Have to back out. Car is in pieces right now; priority is putting her back together.

Up for other meets

DBacon1052 10-05-2012 09:06 PM

Ill be at Taco Cabana at 5:45ish for sure this time. Hope to see y'all there. This will be my first cars & coffee.

PhastekSport 10-05-2012 10:14 PM

First here even thought the company goes out there a bit. We're bringing a 700hp automatic Camaro as well. Our red car is on the lift, but will be back out that evening for pictures.

Just got back from washing and running it on the dyno. As expected. Stock ~ 170hp and ~140ft/lbs tq.

boarder1995 10-05-2012 10:54 PM

I'm coming in the BRZ, but I can't say I'll make it to Taco Cabana THAT early. So, I'll likely see y'all at the event. If spots fill up prior to my arrival, then it's my loss.

Badman Forever 10-06-2012 02:22 AM

i'm leaving the house at 6am. hope to arrive by 6:30-6:45. spots are filled normally by 7.

Any still open?

Badman Forever 10-06-2012 03:18 PM

I got there around 6:30am.. and it was already packed. As for the FR-S/BRZ.. they were pretty much scattered everywhere. It was hard to have everyone park together. I heard other car groups are now leaving their homes as early as 5:30am to get good spots! -_-

PhastekSport 10-06-2012 03:43 PM

I've got something planned for next time. We'll get our spots.

hewno2 10-06-2012 07:41 PM

Well...props to my new friend, Chris@phastek for being the ONLY one besides me that was at the Taco Cabana this AM to go to the meet. What happened to everyone???

Badman Forever 10-07-2012 03:16 AM

when i rolled up, i saw two fr-s' parked on the back right side of the lot. i finally took out my fr-s to this c&c and parked where i have normally seen the fr-s/brz park which is on the back left side of the lot. it is around the block from the gt-r's and normally next to the lexus rides.

The Slow One 10-08-2012 01:30 AM

ah sorry, i overslept again. alarm did not wake me up :(

Synack 10-08-2012 10:47 PM

I had to miss out :(
Was really looking forward for everyone to see the turbo.

We're having some issues with it running though.

Do we have to wait to the next coffee and cars to see it?

back on topic:
I pulled up late as well, around 7:45am. Parked close to another firestorm, not sure if driver is a member. He seemed really nice though.

@Chris@phas
What's the plan phas?

PhastekSport 10-18-2012 02:35 PM

I'm going to clean this map up, make others, and create a good thread for the November one. This is my first guess at locations. Green area was where the Porsches were, but it's first come first serve. I'd like to arrive there around 5:45 with at least one other FR-S / BRZ and some cones to secure some spots.

This will require people to give either a firm yes or maybe if they plan on coming. This is closer to prime real estate than being in the giant lot in my opinion. I'll be flying in from Vegas (SEMA) that Friday night and will be showing up. You won't hear any excuses from me unless I'm sick or dead.

I'm open for input. We can meet at another location before, and then I can roll out early or whatever is clever.

might want to start a roll call too see how many spaces we need. I think i counted close to 10 frs/brz during Sept.

That was my first cars and coffee. Looking forward to November and meeting some of ya this time around.

I'm gonna try and make it to whatever that thing is going on this Sunday. Might be ready by then, might have close to 350whp too.

dcamco 10-19-2012 10:01 AM

I'll be there for sure.
