Looks pretty dope. I would like a targa top more but this still looks pretty cool.

Actually. I want a hatch. LOL

Where's Venom to destroy my hopes. haha

Those wheels look awful. Makes the normal FR-S wheels actually look decent.

I think most drop tops feature either an active or passive rollover protection - I don't see the FRS as being different. They will likely include some sort of rollover protection without adding a visual roll bar (or handle - ala 80's VW Cab, or 90's Saleen Mustang).

Note this picture does not seem to include the top stowed away. It does not appear to be folded back or retracted into the trunk - at least from the one picture.

Nasty!! Any convertible derived from a coupe is never right.

From I have read here on the forum, the car was designed as a convertible from the beginning.

Give me a targa

Or at the very least dump the rear seats. No reason to have em there.

Mr.Bobbino 02-15-2013 12:17 PM

Feminine. Eh

Hanakuso 02-15-2013 12:41 PM

IMO it looks great but I will save my final judgement when I see it with the top up.

@Vladror Did you try to sell the pics/videos?

Zaku 02-15-2013 12:52 PM

Wait are those back seats? so it's a Cabriolet and not a Roadster?

BobDigi5060 02-15-2013 01:04 PM

Maybe it's the wheels, but it doesn't do it for me. Just glad that there will be a convertible option for some.

CrazyWookiee 02-15-2013 01:20 PM

Looks okay. Hopefully it's a retractable hard top. S2000 was one of my all time favorites, so even if it is a fabric hard top, I'd love an aluminum or carbon hardtop to cover it up.

Scion needs a convertible, real bad. Hopefully this won't be that much more expensive than the base FR-S. But a targa FR-S\BRZ\86 would be awesome. Some like the Lamborgini Aventador roadster. Its really a targa not a roadster. But it works.

I agree, wonder if they will name it differently FR-C XD i'm just wondering how they are going to price it since, we both know anything open top is somewhat pricey with the exception of Mx 5 which still starts at 23K and I doubt it will be price lower than the current FRS.

I would prefer Targa, but I must say it looks good. Wheels also look very good. But they must be 19" if not 20". I'd say I prefer this than an MX-5. Anyway for me a open-top is not meant for performance, so that is not a deal. I must say I prefer this over an S2000, but would prefere an S200 Coupé over a GT86 Coupé. Anyway good move Toyota. The GT86 is so popular, it will also sell (except in Europe) as open top and might really steel share from MX-5. I imagine many girls driving it, they'll look sexy in it, but unlike the MX-5 I don't find it a girls car.

Really nice, it's going to be another hit for Toyota.

You guys are loosers for hating this car. Hey, if you don't like it don't buy it, but it is on our side. And if Toyota did a onvertible, I'm sure they had that in mind before, so they build the chassis capable of being convertible.
