I might build a 7.62 upper or just buy a .300 blackout barrel to swap out on my ar but those will be just fun hobby jobs.

Here's a picture of me with my uncles DEagle (fwk that thing feels like it's going to fly out of your hand when you shoot):

Correct on pistols. Don't know about rifles or shotguns.

mpicher 06-29-2012 09:29 PM

I'm a hunting gun guy... Couple Remington 30-06's, couple of .22 lr's, 20 ga weatherby over/under, 12 ga rem 1187 light contour, 12ga smoke pole (road gun), s&w k-13 .357 w/2.5", couple other .22 pistols.

Got my own shooting range too :-). Just a short walk out back...

Vracer111 06-29-2012 10:19 PM

For pistols I have an HK USP Expert (.40Cal), CZ 97B (.45ACP), and a Glock 20C (10mm)...

For Rifles I have a Sig 522 (.22 Cal), Savage 10FP (.308Win), and PSL-54C (7.62x54R)....

My PSL is changed to look more like the SVD though...with actual SVD buttstock (modified for fitment on PSL by a US company) and third party wood foregrip:

"Getting a licence is a long and complicated business...Independent referees provide confidential character statements in which they are expected to answer in detail about the applicant's mental state, home life and attitude towards guns." -- BBC News website

So basically, if a person wants a gun, the UK police will assume that you're crazy to even want one, unless you're a farmer or gun club member, etc. Whereas in the US you guys have a constitutional right to own guns.

I haven't checked up on it too much but I believe it is like Canada and Australia. The emphasis is on hunting and target shooting so there is a 10 round limit on magazines and a permit is required.

In the US it depends on the region, state, county, and city ordinances. Even in Kentucky I need a background check and there is a waiting period unless I have a Conceal Carry permit. Ownership is pretty loose, there's no registration except prohibition for felons but there is good many laws in regards to lawful use especially for hunting.

'Un Restricted' requires a 2 day safety course, and a very serious reference check. Any ex- in 5 years feels uncomfortable hearing you are interested in acquiring a firearm and it's too bad so sad.

What that allows us are rifles and shotguns with a min barrel length of 18.5", a min overall length I've forgotten, and a max capacity of 5 rounds. (Except .22LR is 10, I think) Unless a rifle is specifically stated to be Restricted or Prohibited. Which leads to some interesting situations. AK47 is Prohibited (illegal except under grandfathered situations). But there is a CZ battle rifle that is basically an AK but with a better receiver and 18.5" barrel. So long as the 30 round magazines are 'pinned' to 5 rounds, totally Un-Restricted. Including folding stock ones... All the well know .50 BMG sniper types are specifically Prohibited (Barrett, MacMillan...) but the .50 BMG itself isn't. So you can legally get an obscure Steyr (I think) Un-Restricted. And now, no longer needs to be registered.

But a .22 pistol is Restricted (all handguns are) and can only be moved to and from registered gunsmiths and ranges?

Canadian gun laws... Silliness.

I took my course but haven't bothered putting my friends, family and co-workers through gov't interrogations to get my license yet.

Arizona is cash and carry. You can get a CCW but its really for the most part not needed. Its legal to CC here without a permit. Course a few restrictions. But the Cowboy and Indians are alive and well here in the southwest.

This I do understand! Sometimes I feel like Tucson is becoming more of the wild west with the influx of cartel related business. Feel somewhat safer carrying anywhere I go when I visit AZ.

Have a S&W 4506 and CZ P01. I've been thinking about getting in to action shooting (IDPA). Anyone have any experience with that?
