I believe the grace period is in regards to leniency in regards to new rules regarding LSD, camber bolts, plates, etc. Anything other than SX2s will land you in Touring automatically. Not 100% sure...

i have the rt615k+ tires as well and they work great as a daily in southern california where it never rains. TBH though i'm not sure its worth paying the premium for them if you want to use as a DD....
