I think it has to do with the nature of how it is sprung. It is sprung, but not the same as the OEM Exedy clutch disc. This disc has decel noise too, from what I can remember.

Why wouldn't you run in through an AOS or catch can and into the compressor inlet side? This way you'd be pulling crankcase vacuum, which is going to be better than building crankcase pressure (VTA).
