to get to the pick up tube, you drop the oil pan. if the engine is out of the car, it should take them like 5 min to drop the oil pan. And i would definitely recommend being there to take pictures...

Easiest way to see if dealership blew your engine, is dropping your oil pan and looking at oil pick up screen. If it is clogged with sealant, then you can prove dealer is at fault.
