These tires were brand new? If they were, they have to be worn in first for a few hundred miles or so. The mold release oil/gel that they use during the manufacturing process make them very slick.

Looks like someone bumped it and the rear crash beam was trying to come out from the other side PDR wont fix that. Bumper replacement or body work will fix it.

It's better to solder and heat shrink them than T-tapping, you might run into shorting issues if water gets introduced to the wiring. 18AWG is fine too, just make sure you get the multiple stranded...
