Your going to need to drive the car for a while before a log will be worth it. Since you reflashed the car needs to relearn trims and KC learned. Will probably go up after it gets some mileage on it.

i've used them on my older truck a couple times for rotted out fasteners. they've always worked. but those were fasteners that were properly torqued, not over-torqued...

That should do it, gradually increase pressure. Watch the socket, if you see it start turning and the base of the bolt head isn't moving I would stop. Best to go to an extractor at that point.
