We don't get a ton of snow around here, but I drive mine year-round. I swap winter wheels (my OEM wheels with Wintersport M3) on in November and then back off again in March.

Absolutely. I generally only use the paddles in D mode to take temporary control. If I'm running in full manual mode, I don't use the paddles at all, just the shifter.

Yes, "R" is reserve. Makes a lot more sense than E, because the tank isn't empty on E. The tC's fuel gauge has the "R" as well.
