I packed the same amount as the Subaru grease bottle that came with the kit - 130 grams. Is that excessive? So far (about 100 miles) there's no grease leaking out.

Thanks for confirming. Some of the aftermarket/generic clamps do appear to be able to open up. I'll take some measurements and hit up my local stores to see if anything suitable turns out.

And, you've triple checked all electrical connections.

I think there a change in some of the rocker arm/valve and maybe cam assemblies in early gen 1's. It may have been done to help eliminate rocker arm ejections....
